The Rap America Project Summer Camp is the perfect place to learn how to make those dreams come true. Our camp is designed to provide young, aspiring artists with an immersive experience in music production, songwriting, and performance.

During this two-week summer camp, you will gain hands-on experience in various aspects of rap and hip-hop music production:
One of the most exciting aspects of the Rap America Project Summer Camp is the opportunity to collaborate with other talented students. Each participant will write and record their own original rap song and work together with peers to create a group rap song, fostering teamwork and community.
The Rap America Project aims to cultivate the development of transferable life skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, creative expression, cross-cultural understanding, and collaboration. By engaging in the creative process, participants will enhance their communication skills and foster their creativity.

We are thrilled to announce that the Rap America Project (RAP), hosted by Boise Hive, has been awarded a prestigious $15,000 grant from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA). This grant is part of the NEA’s second round of fiscal year 2024 Grants for Arts Projects, which will distribute over $37 million to 1,135 projects nationwide. Who can attend the Rap America Project Summer Camp?
The camp is open to high school and college students aged 13 to 22 who have an interest in rap and hip-hop music production, songwriting, and performance.
How much does it cost to attend the camp?
This camp is FREE! Thank you to our generous sponsors and donors!
What are the dates and location of the camp?
Camp is July 22 - August 2, Monday through Friday, 10AM - 2PM. There will be a Saturday Night Showcase to end camp on August 3, 6PM - 9PM. Camp will primarily be held at the Boise Hive with the exception of field trips to local venues.
What will I learn at the camp?
Participants will learn key aspects of rap and hip-hop music production, including beat making, songwriting, and performance skills. You will also get hands-on experience with music equipment and venue tours.
Who are the mentors at the camp?
The camp features successful local rap producers, music beat writers, lyricists, and recording engineers who will provide personalized mentorship and guidance.
Will there be a final performance?
Yes, the camp will conclude with a free public performance where participants will showcase their original rap songs and group projects to friends, family, and the community.
How do I register for the camp?

What should I bring to the camp?
Participants should bring their enthusiasm and creativity! All necessary equipment and materials will be provided. However, you are welcome to bring your own notebooks, laptops, or any other personal items you might need for writing and recording.

The safety and well-being of our participants are our top priorities. We will follow all recommended health guidelines and ensure a safe and supportive environment for everyone.
